You are responsible for your own travel to Operation Remount Corporation property. If you travel by air we can make arrangments to pick you up at one of the following airports: Denver Co, Casper,Wy, Cheyenne Wy, Scottsbluff Ne or Rapid City SD.
You must be alcohol and drug free, to include medical marijuana.
We keep class sizes small in order to provide a quality program. Therefore, acceptance is very selective. A complete and quality application is important.
This program may not be for everyone. Be prepared for a 6-week commitment before applying.
Applicants within driving distance may commute to Operation Remount Corporation program versus staying onsite.
Applications must be completed in their entirety in order for the applicant to be considered for our program. This includes submitting all required documents:
Applications must be completed by the applicant and not by a third party such as by family or friends.
I do not have horse experience. Can I still apply? Yes. The program is for all levels of horse experience both advanced and novice.
I do not know how to ride a horse. Is that a problem? No. We do not ride horses during the program. All horse work is on the ground.
Do applicants get to pick which mustang they are paired with? No. Although we try to accomodate, age, gender, size, etc, we are often limited by availability.
Is this a therapy program or residential treatment program? No. We are not therapist and do not have therapist on staff. The horse acts as the therapist by helping humans learn to be "grounded", "centered" and "in the moment".
